Pemerintah Kota Bontang or the City of Bontang is a city in the province of East Kalimantan, situated on the eastern coast of the island of Borneo (Kalimantan). Kota Bontang occupies an area of 497.57 km2 and administratively, the city government consists of 3 districts and 15 villages. The Districs in Bontang are West Bontang (consists of 3 villages), South Bontang (6 villages) and North Bontang (6 villages). According to the latest data from Civil Registry Office of Bontang as cited by JobsCDC.com, the population of Bontang was recorded 167.933 people at the end of August 2013.

The City of Bontang is lead by a Mayor and the current mayor of Bontang is Adi Dharma, replacing Sofyan Hasdam. He lead Bontang since 2011. He is assisted by Isro Umarghani as a vice mayor.
